Our EHW apparatuses could also be applied to livestock industry. Through joint research with Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, we demonstrated EHW's ability to mitigate the severity of stomach ulcers in horses. For this research, we gave one group of healthy horses tap water and another electrolyzed hydrogen water for a period of two weeks before administering an experimental dosage of an ulcer-inducing drug. After analyzing the horses, we discovered that all five of the horses in the tap-water drinking control group had developed ulcers of a severity necessitating treatment with ulcer medications. Conversely, only three of the five horses in the EHW-drinking cohort developed ulcers, all of which were mild in nature and healed without any intervention. Today, there are around 740,000 horses being reared in Japan, with approximately 90% of Japanese racehorses reported to suffer from stomach ulcers. To address this situation, we will work to promote the adoption of EHW for horses before expanding to support other forms of livestock.
